Ignore that his brother has always been the preferred, the one meant for the throne, even if he was once told that he had as equal a chance as Thor to be king. ((I actually understand where they’re coming from but honestly, most of the dislike coming from me is due to the horrible amounts of spam of Hiddles face in the Loki tag and Avengers. Luckily, it seems to be calming down slowly.
And personally, I don’t think it’s not wrong to empathize with a villain, especially if they have a history like Loki. We have the capability to empathize with a variety of people as we are all capable of having more than one emotion or experience. Loneliness, anger, sadness, and happiness. We can empathize with Thor as well when he mourns his brother despite everything and comes to take him back, for proper punishment, etc. etc.
I just want to point out that many fan girls changed their opinions after watching Avengers, where Loki returns with a different feel to him. And really, for all you know, there are fangirls who realized that Loki isn’t just made out of what happened in Thor -though it plays a big part- and went to get the comics. Movies are a starting point for a lot of comic fans, especially at this day and age.
And yes, Loki is drawn with cat ears. So? It’s fan art. It happens. I’ve seen pikachu drawn as real girls and Voldemort drawn with cat ears and tutus. It’s hilarious sometimes, it’s stupid other times.
IMHO, I just think people should attempt to explain to others if you really have the energy to do so about why in your opinion, Loki really isn’t misunderstood. And trust me, I don’t agree with a lot of the fan girls, okay. I never saw him as misunderstood but that is my opinion and my perspective just like how some fans see him differently.
I just think it’s better if people attempted to make good conversation/debate rather than attacking the fans themselves for an opinion. I mean, I’m pretty sure some fan girls out there are wincing about their thoughts about Loki prior to Avengers. )) (Source: babychips)
